Overview

The test plan is intended to be a guide for the test group. It will provide the basic areas that are to be tested. It will not provide step by step instructions. It is desired that the test users navigate the site without specific instructions to get appropriate feedback on the websites main functionality.

Main Page

  1. View ICA_homepage_wireframe.pdf
  2. Navigate to a theme that interests you
    1. Pick one: Peace, Planet Earth, Leadership, Peacebuilding, Resourcing Intents, Education, Community Development

Theme Page

  1. Navigate to the blog for the theme
    1. View blog entries
    2. Add an entry\comment to the blog for that theme
  2. View theme document
    1. Add content to the theme document
  3. Find the Theme page that contains a video 
    1. View part of the video. (Not required to watch the entire video, it is 21 minutes long)
  4. Add sample video to a theme (note to team, this appears to be an option only to admin users, will we set up any testers as admin?)
  5. Add sample document to a theme  (note to team, this appears to be an option only to admin users, will we set up any testers as admin?)

Gallery

  1. Navigate to ICA Gallery page
  2. View sample slideshow in gallery
  3. Add sample photo(s) to the gallery (note to team, this appears to be an option only to admin users, will we set up any testers as admin?)

Google+

  1. Pick a Theme page and click on the Collaboration link to Google+
  2. Sign up for Google+ if necessary
  3. Add ICA Conference  to your Google+ circle
  4. Comment on one of the posts
  5. Join a Hangout (note to team, we need to discuss if we can coordinate\schedule a hangout or see if the testers can start one on their own)

Blog

  1. Click on the blog link for one of the themes.
  2. Once in the blog, browse through different posts and select the one you would like to comment on.
  3. Next to the last comment, you will see a comment link. Click it.
  4. Insert your comment to the text box.
  5. Select a profile to comment from (only click a profile with which you already have a active account) or click Anonymous.
  6. Click preview to see how your comment would look or click publish to make this comment live.
  7. Enter the words that the security window displays.
  8. Click Post.

Google Docs

  1. Click on the theme document like. 
  2. Start typing away in the document. (Note: you will see other users typing live as you will be typing)
  3. If you would like to chat with others viewing and editing this document, type in messages in the chat window to the right and press Enter after a message is ready to be sent out. 

Uploading Videos and Documents

  1. To upload videos, login to your YouTube (youtube.com) account and click upload a video. Follow the onscreen directions and provide all the information YouTube requires. Once the video has been uploaded, make it public and copy the URL. Paster the URL in the blog as a comment with a small description.
  2. To upload a document, login to to Google Docs (docs.google.com) and click upload a document. Follow the onscreen instructions. Once the document has been uploaded, click share. Set the sharing to public and copy the URL. Paste the URL in the blog as a comment with a small description.

  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to upload a document?
  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to download a document?
  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to upload an image?
  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to download an image?
  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to upload a video?
  • On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to download a video?
  • Did you encounter any problems uploading any file formats and/or file sizes?
  • Were you able to download and open all file formats available on the site?
  • As a non-admin user, were you able to delete files you uploaded?
    • Were you able to delete files you did NOT upload?
  • As an admin user, were you able to delete all uploaded files?

 

Blog (wiki, post)-  

  • On an scale of 1 - 5, how appealing was the blog?
  • Were you able to make a successful post as an anonymous user?
  • Were you able to make a successful post being logged in as your g-mail account?
  • Were you able to delete your posts?
  • Was the blog’s tone and content relevant to the theme?

 

Demographics (specs)-  

  • What browser and which version were you using to access the website?
  • Did you have any connection problems?
  • Did everything look as it loaded ok for you?
  • What is the make and model of the computer you are using? Do you have any upgrades on your computer?
  • Who is your ISP and what Internet package do you have?
  • What is the current upload and download speed of your connection?
  • On a scale of  1- 5 how would you rate your technology expertise?
    • How much time browsing the Internet do you spend per day?

 

Basic (Navigation, settings)- 

  • On a scale of 1 - 5 how clear was the website structure?
  • Were you able to find all the information regarding each theme?
  • Were you able to view video that had been posted on the site?
  • Were the website images easily viewed?
  • Which Theme did you find most interesting? (not for our benefit, more to keep the tester engaged)
  • Did all the links you accessed work and take you where you expected to go?
  • If you could, how would you organize the website differently?
  • Overall, did the website have an organized theme and was simple to follow?
